Ingredients
1 lb | Fish, cooked |
5 | Large Potatoes (russet or baking) |
1 Tbsp | Unsalted Butter |
1 tsp | Garlic Powder |
1 tsp | Summer savory (optional) |
1 Tbsp | Vegetable Oil |
2 Tbsp | Celery, diced |
1/4 cup | Onion, diced |
1 | Large Egg, beaten |
2 cups | Breadcrumbs for dredging |
1 cup | Flour |
Sea Salt | |
Cracked Black Pepper |
Follow the steps
Step 1
Over medium-low heat add vegetable oil to a heated saucepan. Sauté the onion and celery until is translucent, about 3-5 minutes. Set aside to cool.
Step 2
Cut the potatoes into quarters and boil them until cooked. Then drain them and return to pot. Add butter, garlic powder, sea salt, black pepper, sauteed onion and celery, and summer savoury (optional). Mash together to create mashed potatoes. Let cool in fridge.
Step 3
Add fish and beaten egg and loosely combine. Form into patties and place on large plate or tray. Put in fridge for one hour to allow patties to cool.
Step 4
To cook, heat the saucepan over medium heat. Add 1 tablespoon of oil or butter. Lightly flour patties and pan fry until golden, 2-3 minutes a side.
